How to understand my scores?

When you have taken the VITACHECK-tests, your healthcoach will help you to assess the results.

I am not a sporty type, can I participate?

VITACHECK is open to everyone. All tests present achievable goals. If one of the goals turns out to be impossible we can always find alternatives or adaptations.

I am pregnant, can I participate?

Also during pregnancy it is perfectly possible to participate in VITACHECK. Of course the test results will be affected gradually by the length of your pregnancy. E.g. Some flexibility tests might be slightly more uncomfortable and also your weight on the scales will probably be influenced. Nevertheless it’s important to stress that no risks are taken and that the bio-electric impendance method is harmless and can have no negative influence on any pregnancy at all. If I want to skip one of the tests, can I still participate?

Do inform us if you prefer to skip one of the tests. By the way, that also works the other way around. If your health coach decides it is unnecessary, unsafe or impossible for you to participate in a certain test, he or she may decide to make you skip a test.

Is it possible to keep my test scores private?

All buddy-tests are taken in pairs. In other words, between you and your buddy you will for some of the tests know who performed better. Nevertheless, test results on the weighing scale are private. During the test the weighing results are not explicitly mentioned and also taking the test itself is handled in a very discrete manner. Moreover, even during the discussion of the test results, all sensitive data are taken into account and handled with care.

Is the Body Fat Monitor (Tanita) safe to use if you have a medical device or implant?

Persons with pacemakers or other electronic medical implants should not use the monitor. Persons with non-electronic medical implants may safely use the monitor. Any metallic implant in your body could affect the body fat reading, giving a slightly lower than normal reading. However, since the metal will continue to have the same affect on the reading each time you use the monitor; you can still use the monitor to successfully track the relative change in body fat over time. What do I need to bring to my VITAGO appointment?

If you have your personal report handy, please bring it with you. But not to worry, if you cannot find this immediately. You do not have to prepare anything for this interview. During the chat with your VITAGO coach, we will try to shape your health plan. Feel free to wear your work clothes because you will not be taking tests like in the VITACHECK!

What to wear?

VITACHECK can best be taken while wearing comfortable clothes. It is best to anticipate and to provide an extra set of (sports) clothes. VITACHECK also includes a 5 minute fitness test to measure your physical condition (step test), and that test might cause you to sweat. Taking a shower afterwards is not absolutely necessary, however a set of fresh clothes to work in afterwards sounds like good advice.
